How to Survive High School 101

We all know, socially, high school could be scary at first. Entering a new environment where no one is familiar may be intimidating, but students learn to interact and create a friendly and safe school for each other. In order to do so, students must be themselves. It’s impossible to create long-lasting friendships without revealing their true personalities. It’s also important to approach people who you’ve never talked to before. You may surprise yourself, and find yourself in a friendship that will last a lifetime. The last and final social tip is to buddy up with students who are in the same classes in order to help one another and achieve greatness.

Achieving academic success requires studying – everyone dreads it, but most have to do it. Succeeding in high school is not hard if you learn to work smart and not hard. Time management is important. On weekdays, you must choose between your friends or completing an assignment. In economics, this would be considered a trade-off. Obviously, choosing to complete the assignment would allow you to succeed academically, but you’d sacrifice going to out with your friends. Nonetheless, you should still allot time for your social life in order to balance studies and friends. Make sure to work to your full capacity all throughout high school. It may not seem like it now, but high school finishes in a blink of an eye. Colleges will look at the four years of your secondary education in order to determine acceptance or rejection into their programs of study. Remember that staying involved in your community also leads to well–rounded experiences and it is instrumental for your acceptance.

Overall, succeeding in high school is not difficult. It is essentially all about strategy, time management, and balance. You want to be able to learn something throughout your high school career as well as get involved in extra-curricular activities, sports, and around the community. Making new friends may not always be easy, but it is said that high school friendships often do last a lifetime. Ultimately, be you and be great. Good luck throughout the new school year!
