Volleyball Season 2015

As the fall winter sports came to a close, so did the girls’ volleyball season. With coach Araujo joining the team and receiving new equipment, the girls were motivated to work harder than ever before. Seven members of last year’s junior varsity team became this year’s senior varsity team. This year’s senior players weren’t as tall as last year’s seniors, but they surely had the same determination and strength. “The last four years of volleyball have been unforgettable, but I guess all good things come to an end,” said senior and captain, Brianna Wilson. The team finished with a record of 8-14. Some of the girls expressed their feelings at the team’s senior night.

“Thank you for making the best senior night I could ask for” said senior, Tiziana Cristiano during the girls’ last home game versus WoodRidge. “I love my team so so so much. I’m going to miss going to practices and games with all of you every day. I’m already pumped for next season!” said junior, Nicole DeLaCruz.

That same evening it was announced that this was Coach Afonso’s last year coaching girls’ volleyball. It was an emotional time, but we wish her, the graduating seniors, and upcoming players the best luck in the future!
