Sports Fall season is over and the Viking nation should be proud of its accomplishments.
North Arlington Boys Soccer: The boys had a rough start, going 1-5 through the first 6 games then suddenly turning it around and going 10-7 in the regular season ending up in first place in the division. The boys were led by Junior Niko Stanzione, who scored 23 goals, Senior Vincent Richard who scored 18, and lastly Junior Goalkeeper Jalal Qizilbash with 41 shots saved on the Season. Then they beat Beloved Charter 8-2 in the first round, Verona 3-2 in the quarterfinal, and in the semi-finals, they beat Weehawken 5-0. In the finals, they lost 2-1 to David Brearley High School. The Boy’s soccer team should be proud of their season.
North Arlington Girls Soccer: The girls really had a great season going 9-8-1. The girls were led by Senior Lia Cruz who scored 28 goals with 13 assists and Senior goalkeeper Daliana Rojas with 120 saves. The North Arlington girls placed 4th in the division and qualified for states. They went on to beat Dayton 6-0 led by seniors Lia Cruz and Lauren Teixeira both scoring 3 goals in the game, and lastly by goalkeeper Daliana Rojas with 9 saves. However, they lost to Cedar Grove in the quarter finals. The girls played their hardest and should be happy with their season.
North Arlington Football: North Arlington football was led by Senior Quarterback Sean McGeehan who threw for 1,432 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also rushed for 660 yards and 10 touchdowns. Senior Wide Receivers Ian Crudele caught for 749 and 5 touchdowns and Robert Carselda 420 yards and 4 touchdowns. On the defensive side, defensive end Isaiah Alvarado had 3 sacks and 48 total tackles during the season. The North Arlington Football team’s regular season record was 3-5, each game being hard fought as the boys played well enough to qualify to play in states. They went on the road to Park Ridge for the first round of playoffs losing 24-8. Best of luck next season to the team.
North Arlington Girls Volleyball: The season was rough for the girls; however, they have hope for next year. The girls had a 1-22 season. A great effort was made by all of the athletes. Best of luck next year.
