Autism Awareness

Autism Awareness

April is the month we raise awareness about Autism. Often it is represented by wearing blue. Viking style, the school participated in several activities. First, in the morning announcements, facts about autism were announced daily. These facts really inspired people and showed how grateful we should be for being healthy. In addition, a fundraiser was conducted successfully for an entire week where students were allowed to wear their own Viking gear after making a donation to the Autism fund.

The final activity for the week occurred on Friday, May 1.  The entire school blew bubbles outside. Why? The bubbles signify differences since no two bubbles are the same. This relates to people being different from each other. Despite the wind and short time to blow bubbles, it was quite a pretty sight to witness the entire school unify for one event. Let’s hope NAHS does another event like this again soon!
