Bowling Champions

Bowling+Champions

As the athletic winter season ended, our school’s bowling team members have emerged as champions. This past season proved to be one of North Arlington’s best when it comes to bowling. With Coach Farinola to guide them, the team achieved 3rd in their league at the NJIC Meadowlands with a 13-4 record. Not only that, but they also won Group 1/2 Bergen County Championship and were North 1A State Sectional Champions. As stated by Mr. Hutchinson, “This is the first Bowling State Championship in the history of the school.”

According to Mr. Farinola, the team’s three main goals at the beginning of the season were “to win the league, county and state sectional championships.” After a setback with two losses against Lyndhurst, their goal of winning the league was no longer achievable. Therefore, they focused on their other two goals which, in the end, they attained. In addition, Mr. Farinola believes that the bowlers’ success is due to their team being “well-rounded and having no weak link.” All in all, he is “…extremely proud to coach this team.”

The members of the team include: Tom Ferrie, who won Bergen County Individual Champion, Kenny Bennett, who was 1st Team All-League, Matt Zarro, 2nd Team All-League, Louie Davio, 2nd Team All-League, Mike Barbosa, 2nd Team All-League, Aadarsh Patel, Honorable Mention All-League, Josh Farinha, Liam Henkel, Marvin Caballero, Angel Laines, Dan Rusman, Ryan Cunha, Dan O’Neill, and Tyler Keefe, manager of the team.  Congratulations to our bowling team for making history in our school with their best season so far!
