Spanish and French Honor Society Induction 2017

Recently, The Spanish and French Honor Societies welcomed their newest inductees. Without a doubt, the students’ desire to learn a foreign language has certainly paid off. The Spanish Honor Society and the French Honor Society are two prestigious groups to belong to, as the requirements to gain acceptance are quite rigorous. Similar to the National Honor Society, both of these world language societies are founded on the same principles of scholarship and leadership.

On induction night, two new inductees, Brianna Balugas and I, recited stanzas from the poem “Versos Sencillos” by Jose Marti, Savannah Pizarro and Meghavi Pandya performed “Rie y Llora” by Celia Cruz, and Nathalie Cabral recited the Poem “No te rindas/ Don’t Give Up” by Mario Benedetti. As for the French, John Mera recited a French poem after the induction of its newest members. Overall, it was a splendid night that recognized students for their strong appreciation of the Spanish and French culture.

All of the new inductees would like to thank Mrs. Murad, Mrs. Torres, Ms. Madera, the entire administration of North Arlington High School, and the Board of Education for making everything possible!
