Winter Pep Rally

This year’s winter pep rally held on Friday, December 18, 2015, recognized many student-athletes. At the beginning of the pep rally, all of the winter teams were introduced. Sports such as winter track, girls and boys basketball, bowling, swimming, and wrestling, were highlighted. So far, all of these teams have been doing well in their games and plan to keep working hard.

In between the sports’ acknowledgements, several fun events took place. There was a game to judge both teachers’ and students’ basketball skills. This was decided by a game of knockout that Mr. Savage won. Maybe next year, he will keep his reigning title. The basketball cheerleaders performed two routines that they have perfected for the season. Several students also participated in a dance off judged by the cheerleaders. Students had to learn some of the steps from a cheerleading routine and then had to perform that same choreography. Contestants were eliminated one by one as they made mistakes in the performance. The winner of the dance off was sophomore Brianna Balugas.

All classes were allowed to decorate their sections of the gym. The seniors’ bleachers stood out from all others since this was the last winter pep rally they attended at NAHS. The senior bleachers were decorated with balloons, signs and streamers.  Overall, pep rallies are always a great time when it comes to showing school spirit and having a fun time. This one certainly fits that category – all in attendance seemed to have a great time.
