Mike Gross who has been regarded by many, as “The Gentle Giant” is one a notable North Arlington High School alumni in the history of NA. Gross attended Rhode Island University on a football scholarship. Playing football and studying Exercise Science in college were definitely a difficult combination to balance. Nevertheless, Gross was able to be successful in his athletic and academic life. Unfortunately, Mike suffered a career ending injury to his knee and has sadly been unable to play football ever since. Gross has worked a multitude of jobs since graduating college; these jobs have ranged from substitute teaching to personal training. He is currently a teacher’s assistant and aspires to become a Physical Education teacher.
Mike sated that he “misses NAHS terribly” and wishes that he could be a high school student once more. He personally lives by the motto, “Work hard and reap the rewards.” He also says that he misses Mr. Rapp’s and Mr. Galante’s class the most. Gross also hopes to become a football coach one day or a trainer for a college football team, saying he has been truly inspired by Coaches Marck and Galante.
