Thursday, September 25, the girls take on Wallington at the Wallington High School. The girls fought for their win. With both 2-0 set wins for both varsity and junior varsity teams, this brought up both the team’s records and sent the girls home thrilled.
On the next day, the girls took on a very important match that would determine the rest of their season. Versing Wood-Ridge, at our home high school, the girls meant business. The first set was a close lose with 24-26, but we still had a chance to pull through. The second set was a close win for NA with the score, 25-23, meaning we had to win the last set. Tension was high and everyone was on edge, the score was rocking between the two teams.
Nearing the end, Wood-Ridge gained a several point lead which caused some to lose hope. In the end, after a timeout within the playing girls, they pulled through with a 26-24 score, causing them to win the third set and the game overall.
After the varsity’s grand win, the junior varsity played, with not as many close calls, but a two set win. This put the teams in an even better position for the rest of the season, building upon our rankings.
