Homecoming: A classic event that is often one of the many highlights of any high school experience. However, this year’s homecoming offered a change of pace; instead of taking place inside at the gymnasium, the celebration took place at RIP Collins field.

The night began with perfect conditions — it was a cool, fall evening with plenty of people ready to party. While the entire field was open to students, the heart of the action took place under a canopy where students danced like there was no tomorrow. A mix of new hits and familiar classics gave way to set the scene and mood of the night – it was time to celebrate.

Sponsored by the Class of 2022 and organized by their advisors, Mrs. Albuquerque and Mrs. Hughes, the surroundings were decorated with beautiful lights, banners, ribbons, balloons, posters, and countless other accessories proudly displaying the classic Viking Blue and White.

Additionally, the night saw one of the most important events of any homecoming: the coronation of the Homecoming King and Queen, as well as their court. The court consisted of couples Dylan McDermott & Valery Ramirez, Shane Gilchrist & Gabriella Kaminski, Peyton Esposito & Angelina Torres, and Matthew O’Mara & Megan Carneiro. As the final list of names were called, there were only two remaining candidates to be dubbed King and Queen: Congratulations to Iker Bouzas and Alyssa Cerchio, our King and Queen!

Altogether the first big gathering of the year was a massive success — It felt great being able to have a large high school event once again. The evening brought countless memories and moments of fun, enthusiasm, and enjoyment to cherish. All are certainly looking forward to many more events like this in the future!
