NHS Induction Dinner

NHS Induction Dinner

On December 2, 2015 a select number of juniors and seniors at NAHS were inducted into the National Honor Society. The ceremony was held at the San Carlo, in Lyndhurst, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Overall, it was a memorable night for students, parents, and staff alike.

NHS officers Ajay Pawaan, Brianna Wilson, Theresa D’Errico, and Olivia Rytelewski each delivered thoughtful speeches on what it means to be a member of such a prestigious group. They described their roles as officers and their aspirations for the future. They were congratulated by Dr. Stringham and Dr. Yurchak alike.

In addition, Olivia Rytelewski had the responsibility of presenting the 2015 Honorary Inductee, Mrs. Albuquerque. With her students and colleagues present, Mrs. Albuquerque made an emotional speech thanking those at North Arlington High School for selecting her for this award. She took the time to tell everyone about her positive experiences teaching at NAHS and being a part of the Viking community.

After dinner was served, the new inductees were called up to commence the induction ceremony. A brief biography was read about each student, explaining what types of activities they are involved in, as well as their interests and hobbies. A ceremonial candle was lit by each inductee, followed by the reading of the NHS oath. The students received certificates and pins to commemorate their achievements and everyone left the venue with a smile of pride. What a happy night for all who participated!
