Jose Antunes is referred to by many as a “Jack of all Trades” – a true renaissance man. It’s hard to find a sport or club that Mr. Antunes is not involved in. Jose is currently third in his class and is regarded by many to be a great student. Striving to be an agricultural engineer, Jose hasn’t yet decided on his school of choice. As stated before, Jose is a man of many talents; he is trilingual speaking Portuguese, Spanish, and English fluently. Hailing from Newark, he volunteers at a local Portuguese school teaching the language. Other than his volunteer work, he is heavily involved with both soccer and crew teams. He is the treasurer of his class and is viewed as his advisors’ “right hand man.”
When asked about Jose, Mrs. Dembowski, who has had him as a student for three years and as a treasurer for four, had nothing but positive things to say about Jose. “Aside for his intellect, Jose never fails to impress me. He is always willing to help, whether it is for the class board or student council. Jose is the man for the job.” Jose is beloved by all of his teachers and peers. He lives by the motto, “Expect the worst; pray for the best. “
