On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, our North Arlington High School Band competed against other schools at Parsippany-Troy Hills. Led by the music teacher and band coordinator, Mr. Fedorenko, the band proudly performed for the audience. All of the bands displayed amazing musical talent including North Arlington that won Bronze overall. The students involved had a blast as they showcased their musical capabilities and interacted with others in the four-hour competition.
“It was a thrilling and educational experience,” said Sara Bagget, one of the clarinet players. She recalled how the event was filled with uplifted spirits excited to play music. Not only did those who participated learn more from each other, the students were put into clinics after the main competition to enhance their skill sets. A volunteering college professor from the arts taught the band tips and tricks to further their musical careers, whether that be in school or later in life. The students were given constructive criticism about their performance and left Parsippany-Troy Hills with high hopes of competitions to follow.
As of now, the school’s band has some promising candidates joining the ranks in recent years. The band which trains multiple times every week has really put in the effort to continue its rate of success in the future. Those continuing music as a career later in life seem to have found luck in being on the North Arlington Band Team as they’ll gain lots of experience in the field.
