There are many unique foods around the world that have become popular over the years. While there are many different types of food, some well-known ones are Italian, French, Korean, Japanese, Hispanic, and, of course, American foods. However, one country with semi-popular dishes has become known throughout the world as well: Here are some Filipino dishes that have been popular for decades in the Philippines and are becoming well known outside the country as well.

To begin, we have adobo. Adobo can be made with pork or chicken, and is usually marinated in a sauce that tastes not too sweet and not too bitter before being simmered on a stovetop — it is undeniably one of the most popular dishes in the Philippines. Although everyone makes it in their own way, the taste lingers, making it easily recognizable.

Next up, we have Chicken Inasal. Chicken Inasal is probably one of the best grilled chicken dishes that I have ever tasted. The sauce and the way it’s perfectly grilled cause it to stand out from other grilled chicken dishes.

Thirdly, we have Bulalo. Bulalo is a type of soup in the Philippines that is incredibly popular. This consists of beef and a variety of vegetables. Although not the largest fan of vegetables myself, bulalo is extremely delicious.

Last but not least, we have Champorado. Although not as popular as the others, Champorado is indeed delicious due to its unique features. It is a rice dish mixed with pure cocoa tablea. The rice and chocolate give this dish its unique flavor; which is quite unusual, but delicious.

While there are a plethora of popular dishes in the Philippines, Adobo, Chicken Inasal, Bulalo, and Champorado are the most sought out based on what I have noticed. In fact, as a Filipino person, these dishes are always somehow included in parties and gatherings. In addition to that, in 2017 when I went home to the Philippines, my mom and I had Chicken Inasal for a few days consecutively due to its flavor and taste. I absolutely loved it, especially because it had been a while since we last came back.
