Rise Against Hunger

Rise Against Hunger

On October 30th of this 2018 school year, 50 students and 10 staff members came together with the Rise Against Hunger Organization and were able to pack over 10,000 meals for those in need. Rob Whitaker, a graduate of North Arlington High School, and a volunteer at the organization, was there to count the meals and get everyone excited to be involved.

Rise Against Hunger is a non-profit organization that helps to feed 3rd world countries like Zambia, Somalia, Kenya, etc. This was the first time that North Arlington High School actually helped organize such an event and staff coordinators stated that they would love to participate in it again. Mrs. Gagliano, one of the staff members responsible for helping set up the event stated, “Working with Rise Against Hunger was an unforgettable and amazing experience.”

The volunteers would also like to thank our principal, Mr. Bott, for allowing the event to take place, Mrs. Johnson, who presented the idea to the staff, and Rob Whitaker for encouraging all of the volunteers. Many students who participated expressed that it was an extremely rewarding experience and they would be happy to help again. This was a wonderful school event that built teamwork and Viking pride.
