A traditional ring-turning ceremony is said to bring a lifetime of good fortune. When you receive your class ring, have your friends and classmates turn your ring around your finger toward your pink one full time. The final turn is done by a very significant friend who turns the opposite direction, toward your heart, to lock in the good fortune. Our junior class reached a milestone on the evening of November 20th – especially those who received a ring during the ring night ceremony. It was a night of success and celebration that wound up having a phenomenal turnout. Lauren Cross, class president, opened the ceremony, and Cheyenne McDermott, class president as well, gave a little history on the ring.
Tradition also says your best friend or the person you are closest to should be the first turn, and the 14th is a significant other. Hannah Herman, treasurer, presented the rings to our class, while our class advisors, Mr. and Mrs. Dembowski, presented to the two presidents. After the conclusion of the ceremony, there was a table of refreshments for everyone to enjoy, and the ring turning began. Congratulations Class of 2016 on another milestone. Of course a special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Dembowski, and the board for making the night special.
