Still don’t know what extra-curricular activity to join? Well, there is one more club that welcomes all of North Arlington High School’s dedicated students. Mrs. Ingannamorte, English and Social Studies teacher, made a spectacular suggestion to our principal, Mr. Louis Manuppelli, requesting to start a book club. Mrs. Ingannamorte’s request was granted and she had her first meeting, open to all members, on March 19th. Attendance at this first meeting was not too high reason being other meetings were taking place.
Nonetheless, Mrs. Ingannamorte, “Encourages all students to partake in this new challenge and begin enjoying the rewards of not just reading for pleasure, but also collaborating and socializing with others.” For those who may think they have already too much going on after school, there’s always time to relax and simply read the book club’s chosen novel. Give it a try! You might surprise yourself and truly enjoy this new, rewarding, magical activity. As J. K. Rowling stated, “I do believe something very magical can happen when you read a good book.”
The first book choice is The Maze Runner by James Dashner. Anyone interested in being a member of the club can simply begin reading Dashner’s novel and attend the next meeting on April 23rd in room 302 after school.
