The musical “9 to 5” was performed at North Arlington High School on April 25th, 26th, and 27th. The musical “9 to 5” is about three women Judy (Rebecca Filgueiras), Violet (Sara Rozycki), and Doralee (Jennifer Medeiros) who have a horrible boss named Frank Hart (Bruno Ferreira). Mr. Hart mistreats the three women throughout the play until they kidnap him and take control of the office. The secretaries then take charge of the office and improve its atmosphere greatly as well as the company’s productivity and profit. When Mr. Hart escapes with Judy hostage, the president of the company congratulates Mr. Hart on his promotion because he believes Hart is solely responsible for all of the significant changes in the company. Mr. Hart gets a new job in Bolivia. Violet becomes the female CEO of the office and everyone lives happily ever after except Mr. Hart who gets abducted by Bolivian Natives and is never seen again.
The performance by the North Arlington High School Drama Club was outstanding and very enjoyable. The costumes and set design fit the atmosphere of the play very nicely. The actors in the play were so magnificent that it felt like I was watching real people in actual situations. The dances were choreographed perfectly and the movements were very fluent and synchronized. If you happened to miss this performance you made a huge error because overall it was an astonishing way to spend a night and it was loads of fun.
