On Friday, May 11th Room 110 of NAHS was transformed into a posh eatery for a very special occasion. Students in Ms. Dempsey’s Culinary Arts classes planned, prepared, and served foods for the teachers in recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week. More than twenty students from period 2 and 3 prepared various breakfast foods including waffles and egg sandwiches. Students took individual orders from the staff members and served each teacher with coffee and juices to accompany their breakfast meals.
In the afternoon, during periods 8 and 9, Ms. Dempsey directed the students to prepare a dessert bar including flavored muffins, pound cake and cookies. The special treat of the afternoon was the brownie sundae which was enjoyed by more than a dozen teachers during the afternoon session. The room was full of enthusiasm from the student body as they shared their talents and treats with their favorite teachers. A feeling of pride and community was felt by all. Ms. Dempsey received a bouquet of flowers as a token of appreciation for her time and efforts in this most exciting activity of the year in her department. Kudos to all!
