At North Arlington High School we are trying to keep our school clean and environmentally friendly. Recycling has become a huge part of our school’s activities for the last couple of years. Mrs. Rosen said, “The paper recycling program for North Arlington high school was started by Mrs. Fitzgerald before I even worked here, so basically I just took over.” Recycling is important because it is an excellent way of saving energy and conserving the environment. The School recycles things such as aluminum, glass, paper and plastic.
Mrs. Rosen’s periods 5 and 8 classes recycle every Tuesday. The 5th period class covers the 2nd floor. The 8th period covers the 1st floor. Students go into every room to collect anything that needs to be recycled. When asked why recycling is so important Mrs. Rosen said, “One of the biggest sources in school is paper, so if we use it less, it will benefit the environment. It’s also important to know the benefits of recycling and share it with other people.”
