Being involved in clubs and activities is a great way to enrich your high school experience. Although it may seem hard to believe, North Arlington High School does in fact have a lot to offer. From the music department to the sports teams to the honor societies, you are bound to find something that slightly interests you and that you may want to check out sometime. As a result, you may find yourself as a more active leader in your school and community.
Fall, winter, and spring sports allow students to be physically active and compete against other teams in the same sport across the state. Marching, Concert and Jazz band allow you to express yourself through musical instruments while Choir, SSA, and Chamber allow you to do the same through singing. The Astronomy club and the Chess club help students become further educated about their interests. Drama club is an environment where singing, acting, and dancing are combined to perform a show at the end of the year. The National Honor Society, the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and the Spanish Honor Society are all academic clubs that students may be invited to beginning their sophomore year. SADD, Anti-bullying, and Student Council are clubs based on improving the school atmosphere. These are only a few of the numerous opportunities our school has to offer.
As a student, I believe it’s important to join teams and clubs in school because they enable you to be the best student you can be. Being an active student allows you to be an influence on every Viking
around you. When you join extra-curricular activities, you have the best opportunity to be the example; to be the people the freshmen will remember for the rest of their lives. Not only are you leaving a permanent impact on your school, but you’re expanding your horizon. As President of SADD, a captain of the Lady Vikings Basketball Team and Drum Major of the band, I’ve met so many
great people who I’ve impacted and who have impacted me in such a way I willnever forget; what more could I ask for?
