Following the end of the 2019-2020 basketball season, many NBA fans are curious as to when the 2020-21 season will begin. Since we all are aware that 2020 is an unpredictable year, there is no definite answer. As meetings continue, the board of governors has pushed the start date of the NBA season to December 22nd, but nothing is confirmed as of yet. If officials agree on this date, then the season will be shortened to 71 days — down from the traditional six months. In addition, as Covid-19 cases continue to rise, many believe that this starting date may even be postponed to next year.

As the league plans to start the season, questions over what COVID-19 precautions will be put in place have emerged as well. Officials claim that the league is planning on having small crowds of fans in select arenas that will all follow safety guidelines  set by the Centers for Disease Control. It should be noted that officials stress that the top priority for the NBA is to have a safe season with strict rules because of the coronavirus. All in all, fans and players alike are all looking forward to this season.
