World Series Fever!

The stage is set for the 113th installment of the MLB World Series. The Houston Astros, perhaps baseball’s most powerful offense, look to show their hitting prowess off against the talented Los Angeles Dodgers pitching staff. In the National League Championship Series, the Dodgers made quick work of the reigning World Series champion Chicago Cubs, beating them in just 5 games to advance. The Astros, youthful as they are, faced an equally talented youth movement when they took on the Yankees in the American League Championship Series. After falling down 0-2 in the series, the Yankees battled back, sweeping all 3 games in New York. With their backs against the wall and the series shifting back to Houston, the Astros won Game 6 and 7 to advance to the World Series for just the second time in franchise history.

Just about everyone expected a Yankees-Dodgers World Series due to the history between the two and the surge from the young Yankees stars but Houston closed the door on that notion. The Dodgers will look to capitalize on their early home field advantage and take the first 2 games of the series. The Astros will be looking towards aces Dallas Keuchel and Justin Verlander to give them the same effort as they did in the ALCS. Will Houston win their first ever World Series? Will the Dodgers turn back the clock and restore their franchise to greatness? These questions will be answered in a best-of-7 series beginning October 24.
