The Barclays Premier League is starting to heat up early this season. With the new managers, players and legions crazed fans, the League is getting exciting with a tinge of unpredictability. Manchester United is constantly dropping points, pushing them further and further away from another title.
United’s rival Manchester City is staying in the race for the title with their win against West Ham, defeating them 3-1. City’s star striker Sergio Aguero is staying in top form as he scored a brace during that particular game. Welsh club Swansea triumphed over Sunderland at the Liberty Stadium with a score of 4-0. Another Welsh club, Cardiff, was not so lucky; second place Chelsea beat them 4-1. First place Arsenal defeated Norwich 4-1 with the former’s new star Mesut Ozil putting two goals in the back of the net to keep the London club at the top of the table. Stoke City drew West Bromwich Albion in a scoreless match. Everton beat Hull City at Goodison Park in a 2-1 match. Liverpool drew Newcastle 2-2 away, and Aston Villa lost to Tottenham Hotspur in a 2-0 game played home at Villa Park.
Even though the season has just begun, some say they are able to predict who will win the League. The serious contenders for the top three spots are said to be Manchester City, Chelsea, and Arsenal. This year’s Manchester City squad is unbelievably talented. They have skilled midfielders such as David Silva and Samir Nasri, the powerful tactician Yaya Toure, and the icing on the cake, the lethal striker that is Sergio Aguero. Chelsea under “The Special One” Jose Mourinho has also been on a hot streak. Their new signings Andre Schurrle, Willian, and Samuel Eto’o have each proven to be dangerous and very difficult for any opposition to handle.
Last but not least, there is Arsenal. Arsenal, over the summer, signed the German international superstar Mesut Ozil (only 25 years old!), who is already one of the world’s best. Being able to send a ball from anywhere on the pitch with accuracy, he is incredibly gifted. Midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who has not been a standout in the past, has been vital to the London club’s successes this year and has shown enormous chemistry with his new partner, creating a deadly partnership for the team.
