Last week in the Barclays Premier League there were many upsets and easily predicted match ups. Both of the Manchester clubs lost. The reigning champions Manchester United lost to West Bromwich Albion in a 2-1 game, and Manchester City (coming off of a huge victory against Manchester United last week) was defeated by Aston Villa. TheLondonderby between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur finished in a 1-1 draw. Newly promoted teamsHullCityandCardiffCityboth won over the weekend, as the other newly promotedCrystalPalacelost. NorwichdefeatedStokeCityin a 1-0 game, and Luis Suarez returned after a 10 match ban to score 2 goals for Liverpool’s 3-1 victory overSunderland. It was a very close game between Everton and Newcastle United on Monday with Everton escaping with the win in a 3-2 game.
That concludes week 6 of the Barclay’s Premier League. On the top of the table is Arsenal with 15 points, second place is tied between Liverpool and Tottenham with 13 points , and third place is also tied between Chelsea and Southampton with 11 points. The top goal scorer last week was Daniel Sturridge of Liverpool with 5 goals.
