It’s that time of year again for pumpkin spice lattes, football Sunday, apple picking, hayrides, sweaters, and all the fall season has to offer, including soccer. The Lady Vikings are ready more than ever for their season with an opening day win already under their belts. Head Coach Mrs. O’Brien – Romer stated, “I am proud of my team because we started off the season on a good note. We won our season opener against McNair 4-1. We also did very well in our pre-season scrimmages. I am optimistic that the team will have a better record than last year. Our seniors bring a lot of experience to the team and we also have a number of freshmen who are seeing a lot of playing time and getting experience.” Senior goalie Lorraine Lichtenberger stated, “It will be a good season as long as all the girls work hard.” Senior captain Anna Doherty added, “The season will be good and fabulous.”
As for some of the underclassmen, they had a handful come out to play this year. Sam Maglori stated that she is happy with the new players and thinks everyone coordinates well together. Joanna Seca is excited as well and thinks they will go far. Come support the girls at all of their games. Good Luck Girls – have a safe and successful season!
