In North Arlington High School students can achieve many goals such as having a high G.P.A., being class president or even being valedictorian. Tyler Krychkowski, already scoring 26 goals and being 2nd in the division and 3rd in the county for soccer, has reached a new milestone for basketball and has scored his 1,000th point against Whippany Park in the first round of States.
Krychkowski finished the season with 1,002 points and stated, “It wasn’t about scoring the 1,000 points; it was about heading home with the win, day in and day out. The thousand points was
just a bonus.” The thousand point scorer got to sit the bench freshman year and played only twice, but ended up starting sophomore year. By junior year he was captain for three sports: soccer,
basketball and track.
Currently as senior, he has already made a name for himself. When asked about the advice he would give to students who want to achieve the same goal, Krychkowski stated, “My advice to other athletes would be to work hard all 4 years and try and get better in the offseason and be the best they can be.” In the fall, Krychkowski will be attending New Jersey City University and he will become a member of its soccer team.
