On Sunday February 5th was Super Bowl XLVI. It was an exciting day for the Giants and their fans as they beat the Patriots 21-17. The game was intense and any play the game could have gone either way. The score was constantly close and at the end of the game it all came down to one more touchdown. Bradshaw scored the final touchdown of the game making the score 21-17, with the Patriots having a little more than over a minute on the clock. The Giants defense did a great job holding back Tom Brady and his team from scoring another touchdown.
“The greatest feeling in professional sports is to win the Super Bowl,” said Coughlin, the Giants head coach. Quarterback Eli Manning, who led the Giants to an outstanding victory, was named the most valuable player of the super bowl. When the Giants returned to New York there was a victory parade in Lower Manhattan where millions of fans came out to cheer on the new world champions. The parade ended at City Hall, where Mayor Bloomberg gave each player of the Giants the key to the City. Following the parade was a rally at MetLife Stadium where about 40,000 Giants fans greeted the team. And as the Giants fans cheered loudly throughout the stadium, Eli Manning said “There’s no place I’d rather be than right here, right now with the greatest fans in the world.”
