The music industry has been incredibly successful so far in 2025, with many aspiring artists taking the stage. Artists such as Chappel Roan, Gigi Perez, and Sombr have made a name for themselves. Particularly Sombr, who started his music career at the age of eleven! From making music with mobile apps, like GarageBand, to professionally producing music in a studio, he’s shown that perseverance and dedication can overcome anything. The artist attended LaGuardia High School as a vocal major, where he learned how to control his voice and develop a stronger foundation. Although he released his first song in 2021, he earned his first large following when his next song “Caroline” became popular on TikTok in 2022. During this time, he dropped out to produce music full-time with Warner Records. From then on, he continued to put together new songs that shaped his music as it is today.
After the pandemic, he struggled to get much of his music out into the world due to a lack of advertising. That was until March of 2025, when his songs “Back to Friends” and “Undressed” went viral on social media. This resulted in a global chart success, leading to his current world tour, “ The Late Nights and Young Romance Tour.” The tour supports his official debut album, “I Barely Knew Her,” which is currently available in Vinyl or CD form after it was released on November 7, 2025. To add to his publicity, Taylor Swift also admitted Sombr is an artist she enjoys listening to. Her admission led Taylor Swift’s fans to discover Sombr’s increasing his popularity. To add to this, he recently had the chance to perform a sold-out show in his hometown with the artist who inspired him, Sam Smith. This further brought him into the public eye and the media.
As for the future, the artist plans to continue his tour in Europe in early 2026, which includes major cities like Paris, London, and Dublin. He plans to continue songwriting and wants a long-lasting career rather than a short-lived viral one. With a second album in the works, he’s already claiming that it’s better than his last. Sombr has a multitude of open doors available to him and continues to move through his career one door at a time.
