Leigh Bardugo is the author of many books from different genres. One of her most well-known books is the Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom duology. These two books are in the same world as another one of her series called Shadow and Bone. This duology branches off to a city called Ketterdam and it stays intense with an impossible heist done by six characters that were thrown together.
The first book, Six of Crows, is the start of their adventure. The characters Kaz Brekker, Inej Ghafa, Jesper Fahey, Wylan Hendricks, Matthias, and Nina Zenik come together to pull off a heist that should be impossible. Many called it an unthinkable mission, but they still attempted it because the reward was high. I was interested in this novel as it was high-paced. The characters have great development, and the story moves along well with all of them. Leigh Bargudo gave chapters from all the characters’ perspectives so the reader is able to connect with all of them.
The second book, Crooked Kingdom, continues the story perfectly. They face more challenges and many intense moments. The characters start coming together even more than in the first book. The suspense of the plot kept me intrigued the whole way through it.
These books were recommended to me by a friend and I am so happy I read them! I would recommend this duology to anyone who enjoys reading high-stakes heists and suspenseful books. These books have amazing, elaborate characters and a superb plot that keeps the readers intrigued to the very end!
