On April 14th, 2025, history was made when pop star Katy Perry and five other women launched into space. The trip took place in West Texas. The flight took place on Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket and took about 11 minutes. Within these 11 minutes, the women endured a life-changing experience, seeing the planets.
Along with Katy Perry was Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sanchez, CBS presenter Gayle King, NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn.
As loud cheering and screams could be heard from the capsule, the women returned. The first to be released was Lauren Sanchez. After her was Katy Perry, who had a Daisy. Perry kissed the ground and lifted the Daisy to honor her daughter, Daisy. Gayle King also kissed the ground out of joy. And then lastly, Kerianne Flynn pointed to the sky happily.
The spacecraft was fully autonomous and did not require the crew to operate the ship. According to BBC News, the last all-female flight was over 60 years ago. Since then, no other complete female flights had occurred. Therefore, these talented 6 ladies have made an incredible moment in history.
