Flavors of the World

Flavors+of+the+World

Last month, the cafeteria staff partnered with the Multicultural Club to spread awareness towards any and all cultures. Each day during the week of March 2nd to the 6th, the cafeteria staff and Chef Eric expressed appreciation for other cultures and their cuisine such as Mexico, Aruba and Trinidad, South Africa, India, and the Philippines. On Monday, Chef Erick served Tamales with Rice and Refried Beans celebrating Mexican cuisine. Following that, on Tuesday, he prepared Keshi Yena with Maduros and Pineapple Chow to show love for Aruba and Trinidad.

On Wednesday, the chef prepared Bobotie with Yellow Rice to express South African cuisine. Thursday was Chicken Tikka Masala with Basmati Rice and Cauliflower and Peas with Naan Bread to show Indian cuisine. Last but not least, to show support for Philippine cuisine, Chef Eric served Chicken Adobo with Pancit Bihon. This was a huge opportunity to express our appreciation for other cultures and indeed, it was a huge success.

It is always important to embrace our diversity and be respectful of all peoples from around the globe. Our diverse culture is what makes everyone unique. The meals prepared by the Chef and served by the cafeteria staff were delicious and I would definitely recommend doing this once again.
