On Sunday, April 17, the NAHS crew team had a number of successful races at the Manny Flick in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Girls and boys alike had a great time and put in a huge amount of effort in preparation for this important meet. As sophomore Emily Karras says, “Training was hard, but I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else. I have had a lot of good times spent with my team.”

According to first-year crew coach Mr. Kevin Blackford, the freshman girls’ boat took first in their heat and 3rd out of 23 boats overall. Junior varsity crew members Mike Szklarzewski and Hudson Ribeiro took first in their heat as well. The varsity girls took 2nd in their heat and 5th overall.

Coach Blackford says of the entire team, “I am proud of the group as a whole, and they had an overall excellent performance.” Congratulations to the crew team for their hard work!
