After the prom, the North Arlington seniors and juniors spent their weekend in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. The shore has improved a lot since Hurricane Sandy. Most of the hotels are open for business; however, some have failed inspection and will not be ready for this summer. The owners of many hotels have raised prices for rooms since they lost so much business.
When Jennifer Barrera saw the boardwalk, she said, “I was surprised with what the boardwalk actually looked like.” The boardwalk itself is only half way done. It’s made of plywood with no railings. Some parts of the boardwalk are pitch black and very scary. Justin Cerisola said, “When I was walking on the boardwalk with some of my friends, I couldn’t believe that they were still doing construction at 1am.” The boardwalk stores are open until 11pm but the boardwalk closes at 2 AM. Seaside Heights will be reconstructed soon, but it will never look the same again.
