The time of the year that every college basketball fan looks forward to has reached its end. Over the course of two and a half weeks, 64 teams competed for a spot in the Sweet 16, Elite Eight, Final Four, and aimed to be the final two teams working toward the title of 2012 NCAA Champions. The final four teams that vied for that NCAA title were: Kentucky, Louisville, Ohio State, and Kansas. Those four teams prepared all season for these final few weeks of the college basketball season. Unfortunately, two of the four teams reached the end of their road for this year when Kansas beat Ohio State and Kentucky beat Louisville. Kansas and Kentucky were ready to take on each other during the final game that aired Monday, April 2nd at 9:30pm. After an amazing performance by Kentucky, they took home the victory with a final score of 59-67. This was Kentucky’s eighth championship title
As for the bracket challenges that almost every basketball fan participates in, only 0.4 of those who entered the ESPN Tournament Challenge got the final four teams correct. Even President Obama’s bracket has taken a hit from this past Sunday’s Elite Eight games. He predicted two of the four final teams in the Final Four, Ohio State and Kentucky. He is, although, ranked in the top 96.1 percentile overall for the challenge; however, due to the fact that his overall pick was for North Carolina to take home the Championship Title, he can only earn another 160 points in the challenge, therefore, setting him up for potential disappointment in the outcome of his bet.
Congratulations to Kentucky on bringing home the 2012 NCAA Championship Title!
