North Arlington High School gives recognition to many students for their achievements. One particular recognition, given monthly to North Arlington students, is called Characters with Character. Characters with Character is an award given to students nominated by faculty members based on notable, outstanding actions or behavior. Faculty members submit their nominations with detailed explanations to the high school principal, Mr. Manuppelli.
The names of the students are then sent to Senator Sarlo’s office. His office prepares certificates which are mailed to the high school. Then, Mr. Manuppelli congratulates all of the nominees and presents the certificates. Mr. Manuppelli normally thanks the students for representing NAHS in a positive manner. In addition, the names of the students are placed on the electronic board outside the high school and their pictures are sent to the local newspaper.
