The Wereling by Steve Feasy is a very good novel. It combines aspects of horror, sci-fi and satire in an almost irresistible way that casual readers will surely love. The story is both sad and amusing as, despite the fact that half of the cast is more dead than alive; the characters are still very relatable. The cast includes a werewolf, a vampire and his hybrid daughter (a sorceress), as well as an armorer who is the vampire’s friend and right hand man.
The series starts off with a strange man visiting the boarding home in which the young Trey Leporte lives. Trey claims to know the man and uses the opportunity to escape the monotony of his life. Leporte begins to regret his actions, as he suspects that his new acquaintance is a human trafficker. He soon meets the man’s daughter and an inseparable relationship is born as Trey realizes the stranger is actually a friend of his deceased father.
If you would like to read this series, I would recommend you start with The Changeling which is a remake/continuation of The Wereling; the main series stops with the third book while The Changeling continues on.
