Visit to Rutgers, New Brunswick

After a 45 minute drive to Piscataway, NJ, I entered the Rutgers New Brunswick campus at its visitor center for a tour. After checking in, student visitors entered a room that could fit 200 for a brief presentation by the chief of admissions. She then explained the different schools and their majors, followed by application requirements. For the upcoming school year, early action is due by November 1, 2017 and regular action is due December 1, 2017. Additionally, she told us that any applicant submitting by their desired due date will automatically be considered for financial aid.

After that, we toured the campuses guided by current students. We were given details about the lifestyle in the school from housing and tutoring to extra-curricular activities and social life. It was surprising how much there is to do on campus in between classes. Although the campuses seem hospitable, one of the primary concerns is the need to take buses from one school to another.

As a junior, my time is running short before the college application process begins. From this visit, I have decided that Rutgers is definitely a school I will consider; however, I will still continue to search for the perfect college for me.
