Every year the Student Council sponsors a spirit week. The purpose of spirit week is to have the school come together as one and show school spirit collectively beyond simply wearing blue and white. Not only do we get to show school spirit but we get to have fun and be unique while participating. Spirit week is also an excellent way for students to become involved. Another bonus of spirit week is that not only do the students get to dress up and show spirit but the teachers get a chance to do the same as well. This year’s spirit week was held during the week of Monday, October 31 through Friday, November 4 and it was once again a success.
On Monday, October 31 the focus was on Halloween costumes – the Student Council had a costume contest! Nick Reis as a ShuffleBot won the best all around, Lauren Reiger as an Ewok was most unique, and the funniest award went to Jon Gonzalez!
Tuesday, November 1, was Decade day; Wednesday, November 2, was Mix-match day; Thursday, November 3 was Celebrities day and finally, on Friday, November 4, students and staff participated in Viking Pride day.
