It’s finally happened – fellow students of North Arlington High School, there is now an all-female bowling team representing our school! This team will be a part of Viking history. The members of this new team are: seniors Kaitlyn Stajek and Brittany Coello, sophomores Samantha Boulo and Giana Sammartino, and freshmen Leticia Ponce, Kayla Velez, Maya Silva, Jordyn Nelson, Kimberly Conza, and one of the writers of this article, Lila Boudissa.

The team is progressing already and Coach Farinola is happy to have so many girls interested in the sport. Coach Farinola stated, “We’re very excited to have a girl team this year and that so many girls have shown interest this year.” Although this may seem as an insignificant accomplishment, it is impressive for a small high school to have a female bowling team. Before this year, no girls ever participated in bowling tournaments- it was an all-boys sport. Now we have so many girls that we can substitute players in and out of games as well as learn from each other and improve our team as a whole.
