Cross Country

The fall season has just begun and that means so has Cross Country! The team is coached by Stephanie Sinclair who is a former runner herself. They do their routinely workouts at county field and often run to “RIP” Collins and Burger King. This keeps the runners in shape and ready for their weekly races at Darlington Park or Garret Mountain. Our team has grown in size from ten runners to about twenty, just in one year! Last week was the freshmen’s first race against Saint Mary’s and Secaucus. In their race, Lukas Presti came in 1st and Christopher Fontes finished 4th. Senior Sirish Modhagala took home 1st place overall and senior Enzo Correa finished 9th.

Our boys’ team beat Saint Mary’s and is now prepping for their next dual meet against Saddle Brook. When senior Patrick Fischetti was questioned about his final season of cross country he said that, “being able to race gives me this rush of adrenaline knowing this is my last year and we’re going to make it our best season yet”. Dedicated team members always help others succeed! Anyone interested in joining please contact Connor Duffy or Sirish Modhagala. The team always welcomes new faces!
