In most major sports, there is a draft to get into the professional level of that sport. However, the great sport of soccer is a little different. Soccer has something called a transfer window. The transfer window is open in the winter through the month of January and in the summer through the months of June until the end of August. It is used for clubs around the world to buy, sell, and loan players throughout other clubs in the world.
The summer transfer window just ended with some very big moves including some of the top players in the club. The biggest move of the summer involved Liverpool striker Luis Suarez moving to Barcelona. Another top quality move involved Real Madrid midfielder Angel DiMaria moving to Manchester United. Also, Monaco striker Falcao was loaned to Manchester United on a season long loan. To accommodate Real Madrid’s loss of some players, they signed Monaco midfielder James Rodriquez. With the winter transfer window approaching, we can expect to see a few more deals take place.
