National Honor Society Field Trip

National Honor Society Field Trip

On Wednesday, May 18th, members of the National Honor Society, accompanied by Mrs. Kusher, Mrs. O’Brien-Romer, and Mr. Coughlin, took a field trip to the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. Upon their arrival, students enjoyed a multitude of educational and interactive exhibits. The group toured a number of dinosaur exhibits, which included restorations of entire dinosaur skeletons such as the T-Rex and the Pterodactyl. Another group favorite was the marine wildlife exhibit, which featured the fossils of a multitude of now-extinct marine animals.

In addition, those who partook in the field trip were able to view a nature documentary in the museum’s own IMAX Theater. After making trips to the museum’s cafeteria and gift shop, the eventful day came to a close. Teachers and students alike had a fantastic time learning together and exploring the impressive exhibits. NHS member and junior, Diego Reyes, says of the trip, “I had a great time with everyone. My favorite part would have to be the blue whale in the marine wildlife exhibit.” The trip can be considered an overall success for all of those involved. Go NHS!
