Last month, the movie 42 came to theaters recounting the story of how Jackie Robinson became the first black player in the major leagues with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947 and the team’s miraculous season. The film portrays Robinson’s struggle with racism coming from his own team mates, fans and opposing players. It also shows how the Dodgers team executive, Branch Rickey, played by Harrison Ford, advising Robinson not to fight back against any racist players.
As a baseball fan, this movie was very good. Harrison Ford and Chadwick Boseman were very talented playing their roles in the movie. Jackie Robison was a legend in baseball; for that reason alone this film should have been produced many years ago. If you have an opportunity to watch 42, you will not be disappointed.
